| Evan Begins the 2006 Season with a Blaze & a Win The 2006 Championship Off-Road Racing (CORR) season began in Chula Vista, CA. This year, with so many new drivers, a qualifying session was held on Friday. Evan’s transponder was not functioning and no lap times were recorded so he had to start in the back on Saturday. Evan was running in 2nd place up to the last lap on Saturday when his transmission started to get hot. On the last turn before the finish line his engine caught fire! His truck died about 200 yards fromt the finish line and he placed in 8th place. The crew was up half the night repairing the truck, “the fire did lots of damage” according to Evan. On Sunday he got the hole shot and led the entire race and won!
